SDNA is a creative studio based in London producing distinctive digital artwork.
Our objective is to explore techniques of interaction within public spaces, using emerging technologies and unusual presentation media. Our interdisciplinary approach, integrating site-responsive installation and live performance, aims to widen the scope of digital art.
Established in 2004 by directors Ben Foot and Valentina Floris, SDNA continues to develop and present digital artwork and theatrical productions for festivals, fashion labels, museums, city councils, musicians and many more.
In the past eight years we have received many commissions for video design and multiple projection installations.
From interactive gardens at Hampton Court (two years double gold medal winner – with Acorn Garden Design) to international band tours, we are constantly looking for new collaborations to extend the variety of commissions we take. Our team of collaborators include a fantastic array of performers, choreographers, actors and designers who bring their expertise to the different projects we undertake while keeping a recognisable approach and distinctive aesthetic.
We have collaborated with an exciting array of well known artists across multiple disciplines that have included Christian Marclay, Steven Issleris, Bill Fontana, Mira Calix and Ron Arad.
Our extensive expertise ranges from content creation techniques (including filming, animation and photography) to an extensive knowledge of post production (including special effects and image manipulation), and live audio visual systems and displays design (including architectural large scale video projection systems, live video and interactive displays).
Our work varies from audio visual installation and performance to interactive public art.
Previous projects have taken place internationally from Russia to Polynesia. In London venues have included the V & A Museum, the Roundhouse, the ICA, and the Whitechapel Gallery.
